Triumph has just revealed these first official pictures of its new Daytona 600.

We’ll have more details and pictures shortly…

Ducati’s new 999R

Ducati has just kicked off the NEC Show with a stunning presentation of its new, range-topping 999R superbike.

The factory had its two WSB stars Neil Hodgson and Ruben Xaus on hand to lift the covers and both men pronounced themselves delighted with the new machine.

Hodgson said: ” It’s the fastest machine I’ve ever ridden. I think that Ruben and I are going to be unstoppable next year with the 999. ”

Xaus, who at six feet tall dwarves the 999, told MCN: ” Even though it’s a small bike I’ve got a lot more room to move around on – more than last year’s 998. ”

Ducati is only making 800 of these bikes and, like its MH900E, will only be sold through the internet. Each will set you back around £19,000 and will go on sale in December.

*The engine is the full 999cc V-twin Testastretta motor and makes 139bhp

*The fairing is full carbon-fibre

*The wheels are lightweight, Marchesini 5-spoke alloys with forged rims

*Brakes are super-trick Brembo radial units, for more consistent pad wear and greatly reduced caliper flex under braking.

*Each one will come with a special race package that includes a 102Db exhaust mono-silencer (no catalyser), race CPU, rear paddock stand and dedicated bike cover. There’s also a silver steering head badge and certificate of authenticity.

It also boasts top- drawer Ohlins suspension front and back, with titanium nitrided forks.
