£50M for MV Agusta

1 of 1

Proton has agreed to invest around £50 million in MV Agusta in return for an undisclosed stake in the business.

The deal was revealed in a statement from MV Agusta this week. The cash means the Italian firm will no longer be in “controlled administratrion”.

The money will be used to grow all of MV’s brands – which include Cagiva and Husqvarna.

Proton already owns Lotus cars and is the backer for Kenny Roberts’ MotoGP team.

The money may also mean MV Agusta can go racing again. The firm is known to have an interest in taking its F4 1000 racing in WSB.
