GS tops sales chart

BMW is boosting production of its R1200GS in a bid to keep up with demand. It has proved to be the biggest-selling bike of 1000cc-plus in the UK so far this year.

Latest Motor Cycle Industry Association figures show 587 have sold this year – even though it’s only been in dealerships since March.

The next closest seller in the 1000cc-plus category is Suzuki’s GSX1400 with 548 this year. Honda’s Blackbird is third with 525 sold.
