Confederate relocate

1 of 1

The Confederate Motor Company, which builds the outlandish F113 hellcat and B91 Wraith machines, has announced it will relocate to Birmingham Alabama.

The move is due, in part, to the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina to the firm’s former factory in an historic New Orleans warehouse. When that building was smashed to the ground, the company decided to plan for the future, rather than move to a temporary location.

In line with the move, a new holding company, Birmingham Speed of America, Inc, has been formed, although the bikes will still be branded Confederate Motorcycles. Production of the 2006 Hellcat F113 is planned to resume on February 1, 2006 at the new base, with the Wraith following on April, 2, 2006. The firm aims to produce at least 150 machines for 2006, with a current backorder of around 12 Hellcats and 45 Wraiths.
