Multistrada racer unveiled

Is this the first race-prepped Ducati Multistrada?

Sponsored by Spider Grips, it’s been built by American dealers Ducati Newport Beach to take on the legendary Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

Saucy red/white/black 1198-mimicking paintjob aside, the bike, a 1200S, is only subtly updated by being stripped of road equipment such as lights, number plate holder, luggage rack and so on.

Then again, with 150bhp on tap in standard trim, maybe it doesn’t need much. We’ll find out when the event takes place in Colorado on June 26-27.
