Honda has revealed that the new CBF1000F will cost in the region of £9000 when it goes on sale in the autumn.

The updated, alloy-framed CBF is a late addition to Honda UK’s range – initially the bike wasn’t included, but it will now run alongside the old-type CBF as a higher-spec model.

The new CBF1000F boasts an extra 10bhp thanks to a higher compression ratio for the Fireblade-derived engine and a new 4-1 exhaust as opposed to the old bike’s 4-2. A 7% increase in fuel effiency is claimed.

The new lighter aluminium spine frame is complemented with improved quality suspension with greater adjustability. One of the big plusses of the new bike is the styling, with a CBR600RR-alike design which is far more attractive than the old bike’s plain-Jane appearance.

Underneath the sportier looks it keeps the practical attributes that make the old CBF1000 a favourite with owners – a comprehensive, simple to read dash, adjustable seat, screen and handlebars and a centrestand as standard.
