Danish company Nerve has unveiled the Autonomous Street Racer that can do 0-100kph in 1.5s, tops out at 300kph and all without a rider on board.

As the population of urban centres grows daily, so too does congestion on the roads. Tesla are doing their bit to solve the problem with their range of self-driving cars and now comes Nerve with their self-riding electric bike that they have been working on since 2002.

Nerve say that whether you want to do 200kph without knowing a thing about riding, do crazy stunts or just ride to the coffee shop and have the machine go and park itself, the Autonomous Street Racer can do it.

While the practical applications of this bike are obviously limited, as it’s a hardcore electric superbike, the technology itself has to the potential to carry across other platforms, such as a self-riding scooter for commuters. There would also be the possibility of riding on the back while it nails around a racing circuit like the Yamaha Motobot Ver. 1, if that’s the sort of thing you enjoy.

There’s no word from Nerve as to when we can expect to see one of these things flying past us on the open road but watch this space folks…
