Alta reveal new electric Street Tracker

US-based Alta Motors have unveiled an additional version of their Redshift electric motorcycle.

The update sees the introduction of a Street Tracker that will sit in the range alongside the company’s Supermoto and Motocross electrics.

The new bike appears to be little more than a styling exercise though it does boast a new subframe and wheels to sit in line with the overall tracker aesthetic.

Production of these two other models only started toward the latter half of last year when the company opened a new factory in the US.

The Redshift MX and Redshift SM currently sell at US$14,995 (£11,500) and $15,495 (£11,900) respectively. Unlike other electric motorcycles though they tip the scales at just 114kg for the MX and 122kg for the SM. We would imagine that the Tracker will come in a littler heavier than the SM, but believe that it should come in at under 135kg.

This comes at the price of the range though, without extra battery power, which would add a hefty amount of weight, the Redshift models only have a range of about 50 miles.

Power and torque should remain the same, with the new Redshift pushing out 40bhp with 36ftlb of torque.

There is no word yet on an exact price or final specification of the bike at the moment, however it is believed that more will be announced around the One Motor show in Portland, Oregon next week.

The bikes are currently only for sale in the US, however Alta are aiming to be selling internationally within three years.
