Kawasaki to reveal new supercharged bike

Kawasaki have got us very excited with the release of a new video that’s teasing a new supercharged motorcycle at EICMA next month.

It’s that time of year when the teaser mill is turning in full effect, with Honda releasing a video just yesterday that gave us a smattering of information about their Neo Sports Café Project – which could be hinting at a new a new CB1000R.

TOP STORIES

Kawasaki’s new video might not give away much information at all, other than confirming that the bike will be supercharged. Though the soundtrack features the engine with that now iconic chirping that we’ve come to associate with their supercharged H2 behemoth.

With an accompanying ‘supercharge your journey’ slogan – and the fact that Kawasaki already have a missile in their range that is focused on power alone with the Ninja H2, could this a supercharged tourer?

It definitely has the potential to be, in the video the engine isn’t being ridden as hard as could be expected if the bike was to be based solely around performance, and the winding road through the mountains also suggests it to be a tourer too.

It makes perfect sense to feature superchargers on motorcycles. With the stringent Euro emissions regulations ever tightening, manufacturers are having to look at other means of getting good performance and economy figures – something that a supercharger will definitely assist with.

We’ve known that Kawasaki made the supercharger that’s featured on the Ninja H2 was also to be used on other motorcycles too, it seems that the next bike to be brought to the masses featuring forced induction is now nearly upon us.

We can’t wait to see it.
