Josh Coppins fails dope test

Josh Coppins, the man lying second in the World 250 Motocross class behind Mickael Pichon, has failed a drugs test, the FIM announced today.

A urine sample, taken at the Austrian GP on June 9, is reported to have contained a concentration of the stimulants pseudo-ephedrine and caffeine, well in excess of the governing body’s permitted levels.

The Kiwi has declined a re-test. A decision on his penalty will be made shortly.
