TT Saturday Practice

The fastest practice time from all the sessions was recorded in the Junior 600cc class by Adrain Archibald on the TAS Suzuki GSX-R600.

Formula One: Fastest in practice was Paul Hunt on a Suzuki GSX-R1000 with a time of 19 minutes 31.9 seconds, which is an average speed of 115.90mph. Second was Ian Armstrong with 19 minutes 46.5 seconds, and third was Carl Rennie with 19 minutes 51.7 seconds.

Lightweight 400cc: Fastest Phillip Stewart with 21 minutes 49.9 seconds. Second Alen Benni 21 minutes 53 seconds. Third Adrian Crossan in 21 minutes 57.1 seconds.

Ultra Lightweight 125cc: Robert Dunlop fastest with 21 minutes 07.6 seconds. Second Chris Palmer 21 minutes 15.7 seconds and thrid Matt Jackson with 22 minutes 17.4 seconds.

Production 1000cc: Fastest was Ryan Farquhar in 19 minutes 42.8 seconds, followed by Mark Parrett and Dean Silvester.

Junior 600cc: Adrian Archibald with 19 minutes 2 seconds. Team-mate Bruce Ansety was second quickest with 19 minutes 6.2 seconds.

Production 600cc: Bruce Anstey fastest with 19 minutes 33.9 seconds. Arhcibald 19 minutes 41.9 seconds. Tommy Clucas 19 minutes 44.5 seconds.

Sidecars: Dave Molyneux 20 minutes 18.2 seconds. Roy Hanks 21 minutes 9.2 seconds. Nick Crowe 21 minutes 16.2 seconds.

Sadly a Swiss rider competing in his first TT died during practice on Saturday evening. Serge le Moal was little more than a mile into his first lap when he failed to take the initial left-hander in the S-bend at Braddan Bridge, clipping the kerb and crashing.
