New British race series

A new junior cup to unveil British racing talent will run next year due to a link up between Dorna Sports, the Autocycle Union (ACU) and the Motorcycle Circuit Racing Control Board of Great Britain (MCRCB).

The ACU Academy Cup will run within the 125cc British Championship, with the same technical regulations, and all riders between 14 and 16 years of age will be automatically entered. Points will be awarded for both championships.

At each round of the series the ACU Academy and its professional coaches will be on hand to help any Cup rider, with data-logging specialists, track guides and gearing overviews also available. In addition, February 17th at Mallory park will be a meet and greet/test day, and riders will also be invited to attend a series of ACU training days including diet and fitness training and learning to work with the media.

The rider judged to have shown the most potential by the end of the season will be offered a special prize, which will be announced on February 17 at Mallory Park.
