Reed wins Daytona SX

Chad Reed has won the 35th Daytona Supercross, ending the winning run of championship leader Ricky Carmichael.

Carmichael, riding for Suzuki, battled for the lead until lap 17 when he left the track after a mistake in the whoops section., forcing him to settle for second place. Yamaha rider Reed was able to celebrate victory at Daytona for the second year in succession as he denied Carmichael a record fifth win at the circuit. Mike LaRocco made it three different manufacturers on the podium with a third place on his Honda.

In the 125cc class leaders Josh Hansen and Josh Grant both fell on the final lap as they tangled for the lead but were able to remount with Hansen taking the win. Grant took second from Troy Adams.
