Brit Supercross cancelled

The British Supercros Championship scheduled to run on November 26, December 3, and December 10, 2005, has been cancelled at the last minute due to poor ticket sales.

The Auto Cycle Union received a press release at 2pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 from promoters RHL Activities Ltd, informing them that the ACU Datatag British Supercross Championship would not run. The ACU is now giving priority to letting all riders and teams know that they should not travel to the first round at the Birmingham NEC this weekend, before reimbursing those involved.

“Obviously the ACU are very disapointed the championship has been cancelled, as at this late stage many riders have made arrangements for travel,” said the ACU’s Brian Higgins.”Whilst we have to respect the commercial decision of promoters who make a huge financial commitment, the ACU would normally expect to be involved in such an important decision.”
