KTM quit World SM

1 of 1

KTM has announced it will not field a factory team in the 2006 Supermoto World Championship.

The Austrian firm has claimed two world titles in the four years of the championship, but will focus on National competitions. The company cites the lack of a stable calendar and low numbers of spectators for the decision, and will instead channel support through national subsidiaries for specific countries, including the USA, Australian, france, Germany and Italy.

Development of Supermoto models for road and competition use will continue.
