MCN Fantasy Road Race 2006 continued with the first World Superbike action of Game Month 2 in Valencia.

The event turned into something of a party for the Australians, with the two Troys, Bayliss and Corser, sweeping up the points.

Phil Ratcliffe now leads the Game Month 2 leaderboard by a solitary point, while Martin Underwood has taken over at the top of the overall standings.

Troy Corser began proceedings by taking pole, and despite losing his advantage to countryman Troy Bayliss on the opening lap, soon retook the lead. However, Bayliss kept on Corser’s back wheel and seized his opportunity in the second half of the race to take the chequered flag first and secure 25 Road Race points. Lorenzo Lanzi trailed the two Australians home in third place.

The second race was almost a carbon copy of the first. Once again Corser was forced to overtake Bayliss in the early stages of the race but opened up a much bigger lead this time around. Although Bayliss left it even longer to make his move than a few hours earlier, there was a certain inevitability about proceedings when Bayliss came through into first place, two laps from home. To complete the same picture, Lanzi took third place for an identical podium.

So Bayliss finished the weekend with 54 Road Race points, with Corser just behind with 45 and Lanzi finishing with 35. James Toseland was perhaps the biggest disappointment of the weekend with just 12 Road Race points.
