Rizla test GSX-R in Spain

1 of 1

Rizla Suzuki British Superbike riders Shane Byrne and James Haydon completed almost 400 laps during a two-day private test at the Guadix circuit in southern Spain.

Haydon completed 209 laps, with Byrne clocking up 181 as they both recorded times around 1:16, on par with the unoffical Superbike lap record for the track. It was the first chance both riders have had to ride the 2006 GSX-R1000 in warm and dry conditions.

The next British Superbikes round is at Donington this weekend.

“The test was exactly what we needed after poor weather blighted our pre-season tests in the UK,” said Byrne. “I now feel comfortable on the bike and can give good direction and feedback on any changes. All has gone well and I’m looking forward to Donington.”

Haydon was also positive about the test, having tests several new parts and various geometry settings.
