Costello at Southern 100

The fastest woman to lap the Isle of man TT course, Maria Costello, will make her debut at the Southern 100 races on the Billown circuit in Castletown on the Isle of Man next week.

Costello will be racing an RLR Motorsports 400i from the same team as the RVF400 which helped her to success at both the NW200 and Manx GP in 2005. A return to the NW200 in 2006 had to be ruled out after a crash in practice for the Le Man 24 hour race, which has now led to the Southern 100 opportunity.

“I’m really looking forward to racing the bike at the Southern. It will be the perfect bike to learn the course on in my debut year at the event,” said Costello. “I’ve been watching Duke DVD’s and Jester’s TT Superbikes game has also come in handy for learning the circuit.”

Practice for the event starts on July 10, 2006, with racing taking place on JUly 12-13.
