ACU launches new youth MX series

The ACU has announced four rounds of the Maxxis British Motorcross Championship will cater for a Youth Class next season.

The races will be for riders aged between 14 and 17 on January 1, 2007, which will be the same as those competing in the Premier and Intermediate classes of the ACU.

The new class will be the MXY2 Youth with invitations already sent out to the top 25 points scorers in the 2006 system.

Series Manager Brian Higgins commented “We have worked hard to introduce the Youth riders into an environment where they can really show their skills on high profile tracks in front of a large audience.

“We have followed the format of the MX1 and MX2 races as closely as we can and I am sure the riders will benefit from being part of the high profile series.

The four chosen will be Landrake on March 25th, Langrish on June 3rd, Brampton on August 12th and the final round will be at Howton Court on 15th September.

Riders who have not been invited, but feel they have the required standard should contact the ACU indicating their achievements over the past two seasons. This needs to be in writing or by e-mailing Sonia.Goggin@acu.org.uk
