National Endurance – Round 5 preview

Hottrax Motorsport Racing Club National + Junior TAG Endurance Motorcycle Championship – Final Round 5 – Silverstone, Northants 6th October 2007.

As the Hottrax Motorsport Racing Club Endurance Championship enters the final round of the 2007 championship, the points table is finely balanced, following the four previous rounds held in Scotland, South Wales and England. For overall honours who would bet against Harvey Mushman Racing or GBMoto as only six points separate these teams after 26 hours of track action, winners of the last two rounds – Uprite Racing are 21 points off top spot.

It is again GBMoto and HMR who top the Superproduction 1000 table, with Uprite chasing hard in bronze position, whilst 120+ Racing are streets ahead and untouchable in the Superstock 1000 class. Moores Racing have smashed and grabbed the Supersport 600 title but they will not relax and expect to see them racing for a podium place in the final race of the season. Team Viking will be looking to Silverstone to secure second place in the championship.

Only 9 points separate Phoenix Endurance and Kawasaki Newcastle at the top of the Superstock 600 table, expect to see Darkside Endurance racing for a class win – at the last round they were only a few seconds down on Phoenix after 8 hours of racing. It’s tight at the top for the Junior 1000 championship; with Team SOBER a mere 5 points ahead of Moto Developments – so it’s all up for grabs and only two hours to do it in!

ETA has an unassailable lead in the Junior 600 championship so expect Black Flag Racing and Team Issor battling to secure the runner up spot. The 2 hour TAG race and the 6 hour National race will both start at noon on Saturday the 6th October and the TAG teams will be flagged off the track after two hours apart from some of the JTE teams who have elected to race for the full six hours. Expect some close racing in the final round of the Hottrax Motorsport Racing Club National + Junior TAG Endurance Motorcycle Championship.

Throughout 2007 the racing has been excellent and the challenge of the Silverstone track is fitting for the finale.
