Shorttrack UK 2009 race dates

1 of 1

There will be eight rounds of the American-inspired Shorttrack UK series in 2009, kicking off at the Norfolk Arena, Kings Lynn on May 3 and reaching its climax at Rye House Speedway, Hoddesdon on October 11.

It will mark the first time the Herts speedway track has hosted shorttrack.

The majority of the series takes place on short, speedway style ovals apart from the third round at Amman Valley in South Wales, which is a full half-mile dirt oval, just like the American tracks.

Classes, as before are Shorttrack (single-cylinders), Thunderbike (converted road bikes or pure-bred American dirtrack bikes) and two Junior classes (one-make CCM 230cc singles and 125 two-strokes singles/250cc four-stroke singles).
