Davies evaluates options for 2009

AMA racer Chaz Davies made the long trip across the Atlantic to attend the Donington WSB round last weekend to explore his job opportunities for 2009.

Davies was joined by fellow AMA racers Jason Disalvo and Josh Hayes, who had a successful trip, securing a ride with the Parkalgar Honda team for the final three rounds of the series.

The AMA championship is in the middle of wide reaching changes following the recent buyout of the series by DMG (Daytona Management Group) leaving the vast majority of riders uncertain and fearful of their future.

Speaking to MCN, Davies said:

“I’ve got no deal for next year, but looking at the changes planned I have no problem carrying on racing in America. From a racers point of view if we have spec tyres, minimum weight limit and maximum bhp, it doesn’t bother me as long as I’m on a competitive bike.

“Saying that I’ve come to the WSB paddock to see what is available as at this stage it’s important to have my fingers in as many pies as possible.”
