Le Mans 24hr: Brits on top form in Stock class

The British contingent of riders for the Le Mans 24hr have had a strong showing in qualifying for the Le Mans 24hr race, with Prime Factors Racing top of the Brits in ninth in their class.

The biggest contingent of UK riders to enter the infamous race in recent years, the squad, comprising of forme r BSB racer Barry Burrell and Gary Mason, alongside Stefan Capella, finished the day only a second off Superstock pole qualifiers, in nineteenth overall.

TT racer Steve Mercer, a former EWC Superstock podium finisher with the Penz13.com BMW team, was just behind them in eleventh, with the German team’s satellite stock squad.

A further two places behind them was the Jackson Racing Honda squad of TT legends John McGuinness, Conor Cummins and Dan Stewart.

The race gets underway tomorrow at 2pm UK time, with the entire race live on the Eurosport Player in the UK.
