1 of 1

Gregorio Lavilla topped the timesheets in warm up at Brands Hatch this morning just hours before the start of the new season.

The Airwaves Ducati rider recorded a best time of 1:26.205 ahead of Stobart Vent-Axia’s Shane Byrne who’s best was 1:26.417.

Crowd favourite, Leon Haslam, was in third place at 1:26.479, followed by Leon Camier in fourth at 1:26.544.

Pole setter Jonathan Rea was a second and a half off his top time from yesterday as he finished the session in fifth place.

Last year’s champion Ryuichi Kiyonari was just over a second off the fastest pace with 1:27.467 in 10th place.

The beginning of the session was briefly disrupted by a red flag as THR rider, Michael Howarth, fell at Hawthorn bend. Hawk Kawasaki’s Scott Smart was another faller early on with brake failure. He is unhurt.

Conditions at the Kent circuit are good with the sun shining and a slight breeze.
