Emmett to ride Honda

Sean Emmett’s turbulent racing career has another lease of life.

Britain’s bad boy of racing has linked up with Liverpool-based PR Branson Honda to race in BSB this year.

Emmett said: “The perennial bad penny returns! Yeah, I’m looking forward to getting back on the BSB grid and helping the team with their development and future plans.

“I’ve had several meetings with the management at PR, which included a visit to their headquarters and workshop in Liverpool and I’m impressed with their set-up and professionalism. The team feels right.”

Emmett started last season with the Ray Stringer-run Ipone Kawasaki BSB team until they ran out of cash.

He was drafted into the Lloyds British Ducati British Supersport team mid-season and scored a memorable win against the odds in the wet Croft race on the 749 – his first race victory since the 2004 Thruxton BSB round on the MonsterMob Ducati 999.

His 2006 season came to a premature end after an alleged altercation with members of his team on the eve of the Silverstone round.
