Wilson's superstock title bid

Ben Wilson has secured a ride on a Suzuki GSX-R1000 in the National Superstock Championship.

He will be supported by Windmill Cars in Boston, Lincolnshire and the Crescent Suzuki Performance Centre in Verwood, Dorset.

The 24-year-old from Boston won the junior Superstock title in 2001, spent a year in British Supersport then joined the Vivaldi team back in the National Superstock series where he finished fifth overall.

He has spent the past two years in BSB with Vivaldi but when the team restructured this year there was no place for him.

He said: “I have to thank all at Vivaldi Racing for giving me the opportunity to ride in the premier British class over the past two seasons.

“I knew from the start they were dedicated to bringing on young riders and so was set to move on this year.

“I was hoping to race in BSB again this year but was let down by a sponsor and it was impossible to raise the funds to secure a ride at the 11th hour.

“Luckily David Hilton of Windmill Cars kindly stepped in to help me fund the Superstock ride and I intend to repay him by lifting the winner’s trophy.”
