British Superbikes: Brands Hatch damage limitation for Guy Martin

Hydrex Bike Animal Honda’s Guy Martin has said the re-scheduled Brands Hatch British Superbike round last weekend was more a case of preparation for this week’s North West 200.

Martin goes into the Irish road race as one of the favourites this year, and after a small off in Saturday practice and 12th and 13th position finishes said he was happy to leave Brands Hatch unscathed.

“This weekend was really a case of getting the job done and damage limitation,” said Martin.

“We just wanted to collect a few points and keep myself and the bike in one piece ready for the North West and that’s exactly what we’ve done.

“I’m happy with the bike now and I just need to take it from here really.

“It’s onwards and upwards and God loves a trier.”
