Brands Hatch British Superbikes: Sector one improvements require for James Ellison

1 of 1

Hydrex Bike Animal Honda’s James Ellison will have to make vast improvements to his first sector times around Brands Hatch to make the it into the last phase of the Swan Combi 50 Roll for Poll session this afternoon.

Ellison completed this morning’s partially wet Free Practice session this morning in third position with a 46.965.

But chief mechanic Mick Shanley said his rider needs to bite the bullet through the first two corners of the circuit.

“James is a bit down in the first sector going down Paddock Hill and through Druids,” said Shanley.

“It’s just a case of him getting his riding style right.

“He’s said the bike feels really stable and comfortable through that section, but that’s because he’s not going fast enough.

“The track has taken a long time to dry this morning so getting to do some work on it has been difficult and the track temperature is still very low.

“Guy [Martin] is totally the opposite at the moment – he’s ultra quick through that first sector so James needs to be beating his team-mate.”
