Guintoli back in action on Worx Suzuki

Sylvain Guintoli will race the Worx Suzuki at Cadwell Park on August 31 – his first meeting since the Donington Park accident on May 25 that left him with a badly smashed lower right leg. 

Guintoli had a very brief run out on a stock road bike at Mallory track day last Wednesday but last evening completed a three-hour test at the Lincolnshire circuit.

After completing 43 laps without incident and a best time of 1:30.2s he said: “I rode at Mallory just to see if I could do it it physically. I rode very steady but it felt good.

“But it’s great to be back on my race bike. I’ve missed this so much. The aim tonight has been to get a good feel for the bike and build my confidence and that’s exactly what we’ve done.

“I’ve been working really hard to get fit but this has been a good workout and now I’m looking forward to the race.  I’ve got two more weeks of recuperation so I’m only going to get stronger.  I’m not intending to come back just to make up the numbers.”
