Chris Walker is loving his time with the Motorpoint Henderson Yamaha team as he gets the grip with the all new Yamaha.
Walker said: “I’m really enjoying it and the lads are good, they know Yamahas inside and out. This is a different beast but I’m getting used to the new bike. We are developing it ourselves so we expected to be a little bit behind but we are just chipping away.
"We got a rostrum at Donington which was a bonus, if we can be consistently in the top five then we can mix it with the factory bikes and then we will be in for a shout at the rostrum.”
His first outing at Knockhill this weekend saw him complete the first session in sixth and the second one in fifth so everything is moving in the right direction.
He continued: “By the time we decided to go out in the wet it was too late to make the changes. In the dry it was ok but it was still spitting with rain so I wasn’t pushing. I was fifth in that session and sixth this morning so not bad.
"We’ve only had one and a half session so we have some work to do especially if it is wet. I could do with some wet riding but as we only have one bike each we need to be careful.”
