Oulton BSB: Kiyonari wins red flagged second race

1 of 1

HM Plant Honda rider Ryuichi Kiyonari took his second victory of the weekend in a seven lap sprint after two crashes from championship contender Tommy Hill caused a red flag after nine laps.

Hill led from the front, but was unable to hold off Kiyonari and Swan Honda rider James Ellison.

On lap eight, Hill made a move up the inside of Ellison when the two of them collided and crashed.

Both riders were able to carry on, but just one lap later Hill crashed again with what looked like a brake failure. The resulting oil spill also caused several other riders to crash, resulting in the red flag.

Because Hill caused the red flag he was unable to restart.

From the restart Kiyo dominated the seven laps. Second place finisher Stuart Easton and third place finisher Josh Brookes were unable to stop Kiyonari.

Kiyonari now leads the championship by 25 points with only one race left later today.
