MCN’s top ten BSB riders: 4th

1 of 1

With all the dust settled on yet another highly competitive year in the MCE British Superbike championship, MCN have taken the opportunity to look back on the season and sort our top ten riders – based on more than just race results!

4th: Josh Waters

  • Championship position: 9th
  • Wins: 2
  • Podiums: 3

There’s arguably no one in BSB who had as big a change in form in 2014 than Josh Waters, with the former double Aussie champion bouncing back from a torrid year in 2013 to take a brace of wins and impress many in the British championship.

Becoming the series’ new wet weather specialist, he dominated in not one but two wet races, including an epic battle with championship runner up Ryuichi Kiyonari at Assen – and getting the better of him!

More than that, though, Waters also made solid progress all season long with his dry weather performance, getting the most out of the Tyco Suzuki to best former MotoGP podium finishing teammate John Hopkins with ease.

He looks set to be rewarded in 2015, too, having been linked to a number of top BSB teams, including Martin Halsall’s new Suzuki setup.
