BSB: Hickman looking for BSB and roads ride for 2017

Peter Hickman is hoping his victory and third place from the weekend’s final round of the MCE British Superbike Championship will be enough to help him secure a ride in the series next year.

The lanky Lincolnshireman is currently without a ride for both BSB and the international road race season next year, but hopes that will change in coming weeks.

Hickman has been somewhat of a sensation on the roads since making his debut and becoming the fastest-ever newcomer at the Isle of Man TT in 2014, and has also shown consistent progress in the British championships to win two races this season.

However, with the JG Speedfit GBmoto Kawasaki team opting not to continue beyond this season, he is now looking for a ride elsewhere.

“It was good to be back on the top step!” he said. “Hopefully it will help me secure a ride for next year as even though this has been my best BSB season to date I haven’t actually got a ride for next year yet.

“We’ve got quite a few options for the roads but I’m also really keen to stay in BSB so I’d like something that can see me doing both if possible and that’s what we’re working on at the minute and this weekend’s results will hopefully show a few people that I’m capable of being up there.”
