Valentino Rossi has been warming up for his rallying debut in next month’s Rally of Great Britain with a special test of his World Rally Championship (WRC) – spec Peugeot 206.

There’s a rare personal interview with Valentino Rossi, where he talks about his racing future and why racing is better than sex, in the October 30 issue of MCN.

Rossi said: ” I felt very comfortable with the car and felt the same sensations as I do in MotoGP concerning cornering lines and engine power.

” I won’t be going 100 per cent on the first day of the Rally GB. Really, I have got about as much chance of winning the Rally outright as I have of winning the World Cup!

” There’ll be at least 15 drivers ahead of me fighting for that, I just want to go all the way to the finish. ”

It took place in the sun-kissed mountains around Imperia on the Italian Riviera, somewhat different to the fog-bound and often freezing conditions he can expect in the forests of south Wales in November.

Rossi, and co-driver Carlo Cassina, will be climb back in the car for another two days of testing before he has to pack up, ready for the final MotoGP round at Valencia on November 3.
