McWilliams signs with Aprilia

Jeremy McWilliams has confirmed he will join Shane Byrne in an all-British factory Aprilia MotoGP squad next season.

The 39-year-old signed a contract today (Friday) having flown down to Aprilia’s Noale factory to finalise negotiations.

McWilliams will team up with British superbike champion Byrne and could make his debut as early as next Wednesday.

Aprilia also confirmed today that they will join Honda and Ducati for a three-day session at Valencia before the month long winter testing ban kicks in on December 15.

McWilliams has raced for the Banbury-based Proton KR squad for the last two seasons, but his future was thrown into doubt last month at the season’s final GP in Valencia when the squad split with Bridgestone.
