Kagayama to replace Roberts for British GP

1 of 1

Yukio Kagayama will be on a high this week as it’s been announced he will replace the injured Kenny Roberts Jr for the British MotoGP round this weekend.

The news was revealed the day after the Japanese rider took his first victory, and first double win at Rockingham in the British Superbike championship (see link on the right). He’ll replace Roberts, who is still recovering from a chest injury from the Mugello round just over a month ago. The GP will be the fourth of nine consecutive racing weekends for Kagayama. He is also preparing to contest the gruelling Suzuka Eight-hour endurance race. He has already raced the Suzuki GSVR at the Assen round. Find out how he did by following the link on the right.

” I rode Donington Park testing the Suzuki superbike, and I liked it, ” said Kagayama. ” That was on the short track, but the GP track is the same except for two easy corners. I think we can get a good result. ”
