First outing for KTM GP bike

1 of 1

125cc riders Arnaud Vincent and Roberto Locatelli have finally ridden their new KTM GP bikes for the first time after delays in construction forced them to miss both of the pre season IRTA tests at Jerez and Estoril.

The bike has now been out on the track at private test in Almeria and Valencia and both riders are happy with it. The team is currently trying to schedule a third test before the first race in Suzuka on April 6.

Both riders have been concentrating on preparing themselves physically for the coming season with Vincent recovering from the broken leg he received in December while riding a supermoto.

Vincent said: ” I am not 100 per cent yet, so I didn’t ride to my maximum in Almeria. I was looking forward to getting back on a bike and finally we have been able to do so, which is really important. Returning to Valencia brought back memories of the race here when I won the title. Starting this project here is a very positive thing ”

Locatelli has moved back to 125s from 250s and admits that it will take him a couple of races to get used to riding the smaller bikes again.
