Nakano signs for Kawasaki GP squad

Former Yamaha GP and 250cc star Shinya Nakano has signed to ride for the Kawasaki MotoGP squad in 2004, alongside Alex Hofmann.

The 26-year-old Japanese rider rode for the D’Antin Yamaha squad in 2003, finishing 10th in the championship. In his last season on a 250cc GP bike in 2000, Nakano finished second in the championship behind his Tech 3 Yamaha team-mate Olivier Jacque.

Nakano and Hofmann replace the 2003 pairing of Garry McCoy and Andrew Pitt. The team will be hoping for better results than last season, when Kawasaki finished last in the team championship.
