Ballerini in for Qatar GP

Andrea Ballerini will ride alongside Britain’s Chaz Davies in the Ticinohosting-Capetella Racing team for the Qatar Grand Prix on Saturday, April 8, 2006.

The Italian will ride as a replacement for Taro Sekiguchi, who will miss the first third of the season with a fractured femur, sustained in qualifying for the first round of the 250c championship at Jerez on March March 25, 2006. Ballerini has the possibility of continuing with the team while Sekiguchi recovers.

Meanwhile in the 125cc class, Michele Pirro will make his debut appearance for the WTR Blauer USA team, after sustaining both a fracture and ligament damage during the Jerez test at the start of March. Although he was given a diagnosis of two months rest, Pirro has halved that in order to race in Qatar.
