New shareholder in GPs

MotoGP rights holder Dorna has announced that Bridgepoint will replace CVC as a shareholder in the company.

The value of the deal is undisclosed, with Dorna continuing withe xclusive rights to promote and manage MotoGP. Bridgepoint Capital are a provider of private equity with a 25-year history of buying business and working to create and release value.

Bridgepoint lists Dorna as currently having a 119 million Euro turnover. Dorna Sports was established in 1988 as an international sports management company, becoming the exclusive holder of all commercial and TV rights of the MotoGP World Championship since 1992. It also participates in the management and marketing of the British Superbike Championship.
