MotoGP riders stayed on to test at the Istanbul Park circuit in Turkey following the Turkish Grand Prix on Sunday, April 30, 2006.

Camel Yamaha Riders Valentino Rossi and Colin Edwards made the most of a dry day on Monday, May 1, to find better base settings and gather data for the next race in China. The Turkish GP saw rain interrupt practice and qualifying, with Rossi finishing in fourth in the race after charging hard through the pack, and Edwards finishing ninth.
