Bayliss to race Valencia?

Troy Bayliss could race the MotoGP Ducati Desmosedici at the final race of the season at Valencia, according to a blog post by Ducati boss Federico Minoli.

Minoli was responding to the possibility Sete Gibernau may miss the race due to injuries from a crash at the Estoril round on October 15, 2006, which saw him break his right hand and aggravate an injury to his left shoulder. The accident involved Casey Stoner, who will move to Ducati to replace Gibernau for 2007.

“We still hope Sete will get better and be able to race, making up for an unfortunate season,” said Minoli. “If, regrettably, this is not possible I promise you I’ll do all I can to get Troy onto the Desmosedici.”
