German MotoGP: Mika Kallio takes pole from Jorge Lorenzo for 250 race

Finland’s Mika Kallio has taken pole position for tomorrow’s 250 MotoGP race in Germany from championship leader Jorge Lorenzo. 

Lorenzo had taken provisional pole yesterday with a time of 1:24.857 in the first qualifying session but Mika Kallio improved his efforts by almost 0.7secs on his KTM to take pole.

Andrea Dovizioso will go from second place after improving on his first qualifying time to record a 1:24.643 today.

Aprilia rider Alex De Angelis is overall third from the two sessions with his 1:24.647 while Jorge Lorenzo makes up the front row.

Lorezno did improve on his provisional pole time with a 1:24.735 but it was not enough to match the pace of Mika Kallio.

Britain’s Dan Linfoot will start from 25th after beating his best Friday time this afternoon with a 1:27.886 with Honda rider Eugene Laverty starting beside Linfoot in 26th. The Irish rider recorded a best time of 1:27.984 this afternoon.
