Edwards: "Best winter ever"

Colin Edwards says there’s no doubt that his winter testing campaign was the best in his entire career as he attempts to breaking his MotoGP victory duck in 2007.
Delighted at the performance of Yamaha’s new YZR-M1 800cc contender, the American has been close to the top of the timesheets throughout the exhaustive three-month testing schedule.

He was fastest on race tyres in Sepang and Qatar and he said the confidence gained in the winter had set him up perfectly for the opening race of the new season in Doha on March 10.

He told MCN: “No question, this was my best winter ever. We have meetings after the test and Valentino and I can talk with one another in front of everybody and really understand where we need to go next and that’s the key. We could go ‘Well that was OK’ but we need to really push it home that this is what we need to fix for the next test and it’s been working awesome.

“I’m really excited about the new season. I’m even more confident now than I’ve ever been. I feel good, confident and strong and I’m really happy with the up coming season.”
