Lorenzo extends title lead with 250cc win

Jorge Lorenzo nows leads the 250cc GP championship by 32 points as he defended his title with a win in France.

Lorenzo had to overcome a strong challenge from Alex de Angelis and Andrea Dovizioso to take victory. Early in the race he also came under pressure from Alvaro Bautista until the 125cc champion went off the track on lap four, before rejoining in last place.

Other riders leaving the track included Alex Espargaro on the first lap, Thomas Luthi on lap two, plus Karel Abraham and Jules Cluzel.

Dovizioso finished second from De Angelis, followed by Hector Barbera and Julian Simon. Marco Simoncelli was sxith, Mika Kallio was seventh, and Alvaro Bautists managed to finish eighth despite his early mistake.
