MotoGP fans will feel a little closer to the action from this weekend as the Portugese race will see the launch of the new MotoGP Impact service.

The service will include branded internet SKYPE-type phone calls, instant messenger and SMS available through the MotoGP web-site helping to unite fans in their love of GP racing.

Fans wishing to get a bit more of the MotoGP action can upload their own content to share with other enthusiasts and download sponsor specific content.

There will also be the chance to enter competitions, take part in chat rooms and fan forums either set up by themselves or the MotoGP teams.

To become part of this new community you need to download the MotoGP Impact package from the MotoGP web-site where a simple registration process will connect them into the MotoGP-branded community.

They’ll also be able to pick up some free content and freebies by answering five quick questions.

MotoGP Impact is a partnership between Dorna Sports S.L. and Global e Networks Holdings.

Andy Brown, CEO of Global e, said: “MotoGP Impact will take an offline community that is huge and globally spread, and convert it into an online community that offers real benefits to the fans, teams, sponsors and the MotoGP series itself.”

Manel Arroyo, Managing Director of Dorna Sports S.L. said; “We are very excited about MotoGP Impact. It represents a groundbreaking approach for motorsport and MotoGP in general.

“Our teams and our sponsors will be able to interact with our fans, who will be able to get a real added buzz out of the series, as well as saving themselves money.”
