Senior Bridgestone boss Hirohide Hamashima has spoken of his delight after Casey Stoner made the perfect start to the defence of his MotoGP crown in Qatar recently.

Having won 10 races to easily clinch his first premier class world title in 2007, Stoner stormed back to winning ways when he dominated the historic first night race in Qatar.

And Hamashima, Director of Motorsport and Motorcycle Tyre Development
Division: “I think he had a big confidence to win the first race in Qatar. His confidence increased a lot last year and he is riding very cool and very strategic. Now he just got stronger and stronger.”
