Mike di Meglio joins Aspar 250 squad

Reigning world 125 champion Mike di Meglio will ride for the Aspar 250GP squad alongside Alvaro Bautista in 2009.

The Frenchman made his Aprilia 250 debut earlier this week in Valencia having clinched his deal to join Jorge Martinez’s squad.#

“I am really grateful for the opportunity given to me by Jorge Martinez “Aspar”. The Aspar team is the leading team in the class. Our objective for the new season will be to finish in the top ten in the championship. I know that I have to work hard and that some circuits will be more suited to us than others.

“Personally the faster tracks are more suited to my style and I hope to take the occasional podium. As far as the team is concerned I think we’ve already bonded well and the atmosphere in general is really good. I’m sure this will be a positive season in many aspects, “said di Meglio, who won four races in 2008.
