Phillip Island MotoGP: Mike Di Meglio takes 125GP pole

Ajo Motorsport Derbi rider Mike Di Meglio has taken his second successive pole position of the year at Phillip Island, ahead of Briton Bradley Smith.

The young Frenchman was two tenths faster than closest rival Bradley Smith, who managed to post the second best time of the session after crashing his Polaris World Aprilia 125.

Japan race winner Stefan Bradl and Nicolas Terol round out the front row of the grid.

Andrea Iannone, Sandro Cortese, Raffaele De Roda and Simone Corsi complete the second row of the grid. Cortese was unable to set a faster time after crashing out during qualifying.

British rider Scott Redding managed to post the 11th fastest time on his Blusens Aprilia, with fellow Brit Danny Webb qualifying down in 15th.
