Indianapolis MotoGP: 250cc race cancelled due to worsening weather

1 of 1

MotoGP race officials have decided not to go ahead with the 250GP at the Indianapolis circuit because of the worsening weather conditions.

The remnants of Hurricane Ike are passing over the American circuit and have already resulted in the 125GP and MotoGP races being red flagged.

The 250GP had been rescheduled to run after the MotoGP race when the 125GP was red flagged because of rain earlier in the day.

But after the MotoGP race was also red flagged with 5 laps to go, race officials decided that it would not be safe to run the 250s in the rain and strong winds that were lashing the circuit.
